The Milk and the Water (La leche y el agua, 2006) is the fifth — and last to date — short film by mexican screenwriter and director Celso R. García (Mexico City, 1976), who is working on his first feature film La Delgada Línea Amarilla.
Filmmaker tells the story of an old woman (Tara Parra), the love of her life, and a cow, her only companion in life; after a strong storm cow is stuck in a small land surrounded by water what it will cause woman to make a difficult and final decision in her life.
The Milk and the Water is a drama about joy and sadness of life, the loss of our loved ones, best times and worst times, and death as the only end.
Short film was awarded in 26 international festivals, amongst others 10th San Francisco International Latino Film Festival, USA (2006), 30th Cairo International Film Festival, Egypt (2006), 9th Festival Internacional de Cine Expresión en Corto de Guanajuato, Mexico (2006), Festival de Cinéma Des Amériques de Québec, Canadá (2007), or at Filmini, Sofia, Bulgaria (2007).
