50th anniversary of The Who: The beginning of a long goodbye

Tomorrow The Who is releasing “The Who Hits 50!” a compilation album — that will include the new track “Be Lucky” — to celebrate the 50 years of the band. Roger Daltrey has announced North America and UK tour as “the beginning of a long goodbye.”

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary and as a benefit to help the Teenage Cancer Trust organization, on 11th November The Who will perform at Shepherds Bush Empire in London. The concert will feature Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Liam Gallagher, Ricky Wilson (Kaiser Chiefs), James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers), Geddy Lee (Rush), The Strypes, Brody Dalle, Tom Odell, Amy Macdonald, Andy Burrows, Rizzle Kicks, as well as some other to be confirmed, who will play their favourite song of the Londoners.

Also, you can help Pete Townshend to choose the “three gems” lesser known between the 11 studio albums of The Who. You can do it through this link and Pete will tell you stories about the candidate songs.
